EXERCISE [TUTORIAL/PRACTICAL]
SHAZAM'S REFLECTION
As a further introduction to Photoshop, which involves the knowledge obtained from this lecture as well as the previous, we were required edit an image by adding a character. The two photos we were told to use was the Hearst Mansion and Shazam as the character as shown below.
This edit was done through selecting Shazam using Object Selection Tool to prevent manually erasing the background. The cropped character was then resized and add into the Hearst Mansion following the appropriate proportions. Several adjustments were made including colour balance as well as the Hue/Saturation/Value scale so the character would suit its new environment. Shadow was also added to give depth.
MY REFLECTION
Based on application from the Shazam edit, we are required to do something similar but with our own photo instead. I chose to take the photo sitting down due to space limitation. In the end, I went with two different poses to be used later on.
The first composition is a similar to the Shazam edit whereas the second is more experimental as I used not only the ripple effect but also liquify to give effect of the staff touching the water.

REFLECTION
This exercise is quite fun! While I'm not fond of using photos of myself, the distortion and editing made it worthwhile.
