        EXERCISES

        AUDIO DUBBING

For the first task in Project 1, we were required to do an audio
dubbing of a scene from Everything Everywhere All at Once. The
requirement is to record the characters' voices ourselves followed by
looking online (preferably) in a group to search for sound effects and
        ambience.

For the sound effects and ambience, I worked together with my friends
to form a Google sheet document as per Mr. Martin's instructions. We
mostly used Pixabay but some of the audio was made by one of the
members such as the mop sound. I decided to make a separate copy once
everything was done to tweak certain parts following what is present in
        my edited video.

When editing the video, I started by inserting the characters'
voicelines followed by sound effects and lastly ambience
        noise.

Next, I had to adjust the pitch of the characters, especially Waymond
by using the Pitch Shifter on Premiere Pro. Since my voice was
generally neutral in the recording, I did not have to heavily edit the
          voices.

Once done, I adjusted each audio track's volume to make sure the
ambience and sound effect did not overpower the characters' voices
unless needed, such as Evil Deidre punching a hole through the door
which interrupted Evelyn and Alpha-Waymond's conversation.

      SOUND SHAPING

For the second part of Project 1, we were required to record a 10-second
audio in our mother tongue. I decided to simply translate a dialogue of
my favourite character, Achilles from Hades to Malay, which produced a
quite silly outcome that sounded like something from those old movies
        that gave wise advices.

      REFLECTION

EXPERIENCE: Project 1 was a good introduction to new softwares that I was not that familiar to such as Audition, especially with the instructions and explanations given by Mr. Martin. Overall a fun and interesting experience altering my own voice to become something or someone unrecognisable.
OBSERVATION: This is honestly one of the only times where I managed to work together with my whole friend group in a 'group project', even if it was only a small part. It was fun seeing the different ways we work together and alone, especially considering I value some of their works as being example-worthy.
FINDINGS: Exploring new softwares is always a fun experience even if some features are confusing, even now. Same goes for Audition where I had to look up several features because I had no clue what they actually do despite already testing them beyond that they do something to the audio.
