PROJECT 2

PROJECT 2A LALIN

For Project 2A, we were required to use the assembled footage of Lalin from one of the exercises done beforehand (link). The task was to do colour grading on the scenes to give a specific ambience and tone using the Lumetri Color.

FINAL OUTCOME

PROJECT 2B PRODUCTION SHOOT

For Project 2, we had to work in groups to produce a trailer for the movie Everything Everywhere All at Once. To allow everyone to get to know each other, Mr. Martin assigned the groups himself, which ended up with me and two of my friends in the same group which I was grateful for since without them I would have gone insane.

I ended up becoming the assistant director alongside my other friend who had to translate more than half of the things that was said since half of the members only spoke Chinese.

We created a google document to store all the information including storyboard and time schedule for each scene so that it is easier to refer to rather than going to multiple files.

We were given several scenes to re-enact from the movie with a provided storyboard.

LINK TO PROVIDED STORYBOARD:

Initially, we thought we were able to film around campus grounds away from the Photography studio but turns out it was the opposite. Despite the time spent looking for locations, we did end up making the studio work in our favour, especially since we were able to go out nearby.

Once finished, the video clips along with the audio files were compiled in a Google Drive folder that was also inserted in the document from before.

For the editing, we were required to create a trailer using what we have learned thus far. A word to take note of is that it can be an entirely new movie with a different plot. The software used for this particular task is Premiere Pro since a large part of it involves colour correction and grading as well as adding different filters or effects to enhance the view.

For the colour grading specifically, Mr. Martin wanted us to have the following combinations in our final video:
  • Teal & Orange

  • Bluish (cold)

  • Greenish (cold),

  • Brownish (warm),
