WEEK 1
Once everything was introduced, we got to forming our respective groups
and preparing the folders/links needed for the project, ie. a Figjam board
and a Google Drive Folder. My group members consisted of:
WEEK 2
EMPATHY
On week 2, we were given a briefing by the client herself, Dr. Mugilarasi
Arasarethinam, on the project that we will be doing. She explained and
helped clarify the direction of each group's interview questions that were
to be conducted the following week.
For my group in particular, we had to remove some questions as they were
more related to medical knowledge that is more suited towards
medical/professional caregivers. We were also told to make a similar but
separate set of questions for professional caregivers as their role in
this project is to give a second opinion since the main target audience
was actually just family caregivers.
Here are the finalised questions:
Once we had the questions finalised, Kai Xuan and I went on to translate the questions to Mandarin and Malay respectively for two of the interviewees. However, the interviewee who needed the Malay translation backed out but we were able to eventually find another interviewee who spoke English.
WEEK 3
EMPATHY
Week 3 was when we started conducting the interview regarding the target
audience; caregivers. It was split into Family Caregivers and Professional
Caregivers with each target having at least three interviewees, but we had
trouble in finding the latter as a lot that we contacted had busy
schedules so they ended up not accepting our request.
Thus, we decided to conduct the interviews for Family Caregivers first and
requested more time to find people until the following week, which we
thankfully succeeded in.

WEEK 4
EMPATHY
Since we did not have enough time to both find and interview the professional caregivers, the interview sessions were moved to week 4 instead.
Once we finished all the interviews, we moved on to making the transcripts for each session.
This was followed by us picking apart each interview and listing out points said by each interviewee.
WEEK 5
EMPATHY
Continuing from the interview notes, we made an affinity diagram by grouping the points written down based on similarities (ie. patient struggles, suggestions etc).
DEFINEFinally, we moved on to the Define Stage. We started out with a both the problem statement and the How Might We?, except we wrote our own individually following an activity conducted in class.
In class, Dr Wong conducted an activity using a method called Crazy 8 where we were to roughly scribble/sketch/write down eight different ideas in the span of eight minutes.
WEEK 7
IDEATION
On week 7, we had our first presentation to the client, which was our proposal presentation. Beforehand, we had a call to discuss how the product would look like with a few variations based on what we researched.
Since our idea was to have a watch with a website accompanying it, I went on to make a few sketches of (what would be an initial look) the website, at least the important pages.

WEEK 8
On week 8, we started developing how the products would look like, starting with a simple moodboard to gather the general aesthetic.
WEEK 8
PROTOTYPE
Other than that, we also made a feedback form to send out to the previous interviewees to see whether they would consider using our product and which design they prefer most.
WEEK 10
On week 10, we created a summary of the feedback form in order to see which part of the prototype can be further improved.
WEEK 11
Unfortunately, Dr Wong said the avatars were too childish looking so Li Wen had to readjust it again.
WEEK 12
On week 12, we progressed further on developing both the website and watch prototypes. Since there was an issue with the website font looking too game-like, as stated by Dr. Wong, I went on ahead and found some other fonts that would still match the overall retro style of our product.
Li Wen worked on the look of the avatars for customisation as a feedback we got from Dr. Wong was that the style seemed too childish for the target audience.

This week was also the week we worked more on the prototype itself. While Dave focused more on the watch prototype, I focused more on the website prototype but we still tried to help whenever we're stuck on something which was very appreciated on my end.
WEEK 13
PROTOTYPE
Unfortunately, I was unable to attend the class due to recovering from the hospital. Based on what my group members told me, here is the gist of the feedback given and what we had to change for the prototype:
Website:
- More rounded edges (less sharp)
- Create a hero page as well as a landing page before logging in
Watch:
- Allow the colour of the high bpm indicator to flicker
- Include a profile page
Following the feedback given, Dave and I tweaked the prototypes whereas Kai Xuan and Belinda worked on the presentation slides.
TEST
Once both prototypes were finalised, we moved on to testing, which was conducted by Kai Xuan and Belinda. We only managed to test the product on two people but both managed to execute the given tasks with good precision. One of the only problems were the testers' tendency to go for the Call History button in order to access the call feature, which we fixed afterwards.
WEEK 14
Finally came the time to present our final product and its features to
the client! To make sure we came fully prepared with little hiccups, we
practiced several times to ensure that we would finish before the time
limit, which was 15 minutes.
Feedback: Refine the testing section. Rather than counting the
percentage by person, create a bar chart with the average score for each
task.
