PROJECT 1A
PHYSICAL COLLAGE
A similar base to the second composition was used, featuring a play on size ratio where three monkeys are set up to look bigger than their actual by using smaller cutouts of caves and people. Additional elements were added, particularly the three 'suns' as well as the three stacked rocks to point towards common use of the number three in folklore such as:
- Three gifts from East of the Sun, West of the Moon.
- Three nights spent in the enchanted castle from The Story of the Youth Who Went Forth to Learn What Fear Was.
- Three temptations/hunts/blows from Sir Gawain and the Green Knight.
PROCESS WORK:
DIGITAL COLLAGE [WITH COLOUR ADJUSTMENT]
The main inspiration for this collage was imagining a sunflower on a balcony enjoying some sunlight. An additional plant was added in the middleground and the adaptation of a sunflower was more literal with emphasis on sun. Colour adjustments were done to express a dystopian feeling of the environment "corrupted".

EXPERIENCE: Digital Photography and Imaging is a much more advance module compared to Introduction to Photography from foundation, particularly because we move on from Lightroom to Photoshop when editing photos. I personally enjoy how imaginative we can be when editing and composing to create an entirely new photo with its own story.
OBSERVATION: The instructions and feedback, while vague, are useful upon further inspection when it comes to producing quality results. Both video and written instruction provided definitely helped with the understanding of the subject.
FINDINGS: These exercises helped familiarise myself with Photoshop's functions and how they differ from Illustrator and Indesign. The open nature of them helped me experiment with further knowledge based on lectures and notes.
